SCL supplied a complete Grundfos SQ Flex solar pumping system in early 2015 to the Teso Widows Development Initiative in Soroti, Uganda.
The farm near Soroti is run by Teso Widows and grows saplings for orange trees, ginger, chillies and water melons. It has also grown pineapples. There are 36,000 widows chaired and led by Beatrice herself a young widow. HIV, the Lords Resistance Army (LRA), cattle raiders and TB have caused the high numbers. The new project is for the school they run in Otuboi the place where the people first decisively fought off Kony and the LRA.
